โEMBRACING
THE NEW NORMALโ
A
very good morning to the honourable judges,
teachers, parents and my fellow friends. Iโm Kirshavina Kumar and today on this
fine day, I would like to present a public speech about โEmbracing the New
Normalโ. Please lend me your ears. In Malaysia, the Covid-19 outbreak had had a
huge impact on the countryโs political economic, social, health, and also
educational systems. In fact, it has changed the way and the lifestyle of human
beings.
Covid-19 pandemic has not ended yet until
there is a best vaccine or treatment, everyone remains at risk. We all need to
protect ourselves and others too. So, that World Health Organization (WHO) has
announced some new norms that we should apply to the society. First of all, we
are encouraged to avoid the 3Cโs. There are certain places where the Covid spreads
more easily. For instance, crowded places, close contact settings and confined spaces.
The risk is higher are the places where these factors overlap. Always practice
the 3Wโs which are wash, wear, and warn to reduce the risk of Covid-19.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I would like to suggest that avoid crowded
places and limit time in enclosed spaces. Remember to maintain at least 1 meter
distances from the other people, do not forget to sanitize your hands and cover
your coughs and sneezes with flexed elbow to prevent the spread of virus. Wear
a mask wherever you go in order to ensure your safety especially the
individuals with symptoms like cough, fever, tiredness and so on. Workers who
frequently deal with the public such as at service counters. Next, in ensuring
the teaching and learning process continues, our prime minister, Tan Sri
Muhyiddin Yasin, has requested to the Ministry of education to implement
home-based learning initiatives until schools are safe to be reopened.
Therefore, school teachers have started to
form online classes by using google classroom, Telegram, Google Meet and more,
Regardless of which platforms they are using but their intentions are all the
same, to continue teaching and to always keep track of their students learning
progress as well. On the other hand, some teachers are a bit disappointed to
know that there are some students who have Internet problems and only a few
students who actually submitted their tasks. I know that adjusting to the new
normal may not be easy but it is always possible when we work hard. Do you know
how to adapt yourself to be an effective online learner? Let me share some tips
to you all. First, plan a schedule according to the right timing, set up a
comfortable space, speak up during online classes and always stay connected.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have line out the new normal during
Covid-19 pandemic. Now it is the time to decide the best decision on this
issue. Letโs together break the chain of Covid-19. โAlone we can do so little,
together we can do so muchโ. Well then, I have arrived at the end of my speech.
Thus, I would like to thank all of you for your unwavering attention.
